about

First of all, there are some things that you try to imagine and manifest when composing, and after, there are things that reflect in the outcome.
By things here, I mean musical visualizations, which are definitely an important aspect in making mostly instrumental music like I do.
So at first, I really wanted to make some soft ambient CD, something truly calm and comfortable, but then again, it seems I couldn' t do that (except on "Northbound" perhaps).
At the beginning this album was supposed to be called "Arboretum" (a heaven of peace), but in the end, given the concept of Antiklimax, i just saw it didn' t fit.
Through Internet I found Jaana Palonen, from Tampere / Finland, and proposed to collaborate with her, as I was really touched by her unique voice and the feelings she described there.
We constructed new material, and I reworked some of her songs.
I realized my concept was beginning to drift towards a darker approach, retaining the aspect of purity in Finland' s nature and wilderness, but also adding to the fact that nuclear danger now threatened this area (a new reactor being built for the nuclear power plant in Olkiluoto).
Yes, my debut album also dealt with concepts of nuclear danger, you can think of it as an obsession of sorts.
The songs were constructed slowly and I was an enthusiast.
In the end, the concept was also a "romantic take" on a motionless journey to join a person that you really want to meet...
Music being the only link. (VB)
